Kate Lee was born in Devon in 1979. Studies at Kent Institute of Art led
her to graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a BA degree in
Fine Art painting and Printmaking in 2002.
A keen interest in dance and movement has strongly influenced her development as an artist in both painting and drawing. Kate's travels in Spain gave her inspiration for a series of paintings that focused on the female figure and dance.
Her
recent work has concentrated on the female nude, investigating movement,
space, and colour. Kate works in a gestured manner and delight in the
indulgent qualities of oil paint and the beauty of the female figure.
